Logo design for Hunie.co, a new design community focused on bringing startups and designers together for mutual benefit. The logo spawned from a few symbolic ideas: the windup key representing startups, the pencil representing designers/creatives, and both are extremely busy bees (especially together).

looksy1

Identity development & exploration for a social shopping concept.

Looksy promises to be a celebrity-driven shopping experience that let’s you “dress like a celebrity without spending like one.” That was my line. Pretty happy with it. Anyway, these are some presentation images and accompanying developments and explorations when working on this identity project.

stockproject1

A simple and memorable logo to brand a groundbreaking relationship.

When the world’s biggest creative website and one of the world’s largest stock houses come together, sparks will fly. To represent the new relationship between deviantART and Fotolia, I created this logo, helping to brand spaces of deviantART and Fotolia where the two websites converge.

The iconography behind the logo represents, in a very literal way, what stock photography is all about: finding photos. Hence, the magnifying glass and the camera get mixed together in a simple but bold fashion.

The last slide displays a couple of alternate options I produced.

bioplastics1

Bioplastics are a line of materials made from renewable resources, like algae, corn, etc, that are designed to retain the same characteristics of regular petroleum-based plastics without the negative environmental impact.

The concept behind this work was to portray interacting and dynamic icons of nature working together to form something more structurally sound. Hence, we have 3 leaves forming a triangular shape representing the source materials coming together to form a newer, stronger object.

Symbol design shown in-context on plastic packaging. Shown silkscreen and embossed. Additional concepts also shown.

Winner of Second Runner-Up Prize in Cereplast’s “Make Your Mark” Competition.

birthdayinvite1

To celebrate deviantART’s 10th birthday (which is practically 100 in internet years), it through a party in Hollywood at the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd. As part of the celebrations, I designed these birthday booklets which were handed out to every party guest as a keepsake + informational guide to the party’s various events and schedule. There is also a handy map to help people find their way through the oft-confusing architecture of the House of Blues.
